I offer 3 models of general online tutoring.

Small group Tuition 1:3

£14 per child for a 50 minute tuition session

These sessions can be perfect for children who need a general boost.  Small sessions allow interaction between students - I encourage the students to share ideas with each other.  Also, some children like the reassurance of other children around them who are working at the same level.  A great opportunity for your child to embrace online technology safely and securely; and to build positive online communication skills with other children. 😊

1:1 Tuition

£27 for a 50 minute session

These sessions are particularly suitable for children who have special educational needs, or who are lacking in confidence in larger groups.  If your child has special education needs and is struggling with concentration, then shorter sessions can be arranged at a reduced price.  In consultation with parents/carers and often the children themselves. Each child has their own Personal Progression Plan and progress shared is weekly by myself with the parent/carer/guardian.

larger group Tuition 1:6

£8 per child for a 50 minute tuition session

These sessions are generally suited to slightly older children (aged 9 to 11).  Children in these groups tend to be more confident and often like the collaboration, and competition element, of the larger groups!  For these children, progression plans are shared but progress reports remain individual.  It's a great opportunity for older children to learn and practise the 'soft' skills of IT, to use online technology to communicate in a safe and secure environment and to learn how to build respectful and harmonious relationships online.

*These groups are dependent on having the correct number of tutees.

During the pandemic, learning went 'online' and technologies evolved at an exponential rate to respond effectively.  Zoom with all it's screen share and other fantastic features, plus excellent broadband facilities and so many 'add-ons' means online learning is now a fully immersive, interactive and completely acceptable way of teaching and learning.

Below is a 'snapshot' of how online learning has overtaken traditional face to face tutoring in the past year.

online learning via Zoom

Families lead increasingly busy lives and for many, online learning is a great choice and even the best choice.  It means that parents and carers can be more selective about their child's tutor both in terms of experience and price.

One of the most prominent advantages of online tuition is the amount of interactive and engaging resources available today.  There are so many interactive tools, multimedia resources and educational games available to engage and captivate young learners.  These digital resources bring learning to life, making it more enjoyable and stimulating for primary aged children.  I have access to interactive quizzes, visual aids and virtual simulations which provide a dynamic learning experience that caters for the natural curiosity and enthusiasm of young minds.  Such interactive elements not only reinforce learning but also make it easier for children to grasp complex concepts and retain information effectively.

I can offer bespoke sessions for all ages.  Some suggestions are reading (fluency and comprehension), writing, phonics and spelling, handwriting, maths (place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, area and perimeter and statistics) and topic work.

Maybe your child needs a general boost because you feel they are doing well in school but they are not reaching their full potential.

Maybe your child has missed some of the curriculum during the pandemic and is finding the pace and demands of formal learning getting increasingly harder.  This can then begin to impact on a child's self esteem and anxiety levels.  As an experienced teacher, I have found that this is particularly applicable to ages 7 - 9.

Or, maybe your child has special education needs.  I have experience of teaching children with ADHD. dyslexia and ASD.

There is also the opportunity for you - the parent/carer/guardian to support your child during their tutoring session or even learn alongside your child how I, as a qualified teacher, explain, facilitate and support your child in learning concepts.
