If you are thinking of tutoring for your child or children I am close at hand and the study area in my house is packed with educational resources and games to motivate, engage and teach your children.  With over 20 years experience as a primary school teacher, I have a great understanding of all the educational expectations for each school year.  I can meet with you to discuss the best programme of learning to support your child.  In addition to their academic requirements, I am also trained in supporting wellbeing and reducing anxiety. which continues to be so very important in the Welsh curriculum.

It is an unhidden fact that tutoring is a luxury for many families, with the cost of living rising and hard working parents making decisions between holidays, after school clubs, sports club memberships and meals out or in!  So, if you are exploring my website you are already showing a huge commitment into your child's future education. I was always brought up to believe that education is so very important as it unlocks so many future possibilities.  A good education begins in reception where a child's attitudes to learning are formed, and then shaped as they go through the primary curriculum.  Education is rarely a continuous upward curve and many children now (one quarter of the population) benefit from a private tutor at some stage of their schooling.

You might want to give your child a 'boost' with their general learning, as there are many children who are generally doing well at school but may be finding something specific tricky or challenging.  There are also the children who have great potential, but just aren't quite showing it in the classroom environment.  This may be because they lack confidence in a large group; or in a large class, maybe the teacher is not challenging them enough, academically.  Working with a private tutor 1:1 can propel these children into greater depth learning, giving them a sense of worth and satisfaction in their work.  In a small group of 3:1*, these children can also thrive on competition!

It might be that your child is finding the classroom environment and age related expectations tricky or even overwhelming, which is having an impact on their confidence and ultimately, their self esteem.  Often times, working 1:1 or in a small group* with a private tutor, who can spend time explaining things and working at a slower pace, will enable those children to grow in confidence and 'find their footing' in a class size group of children.
