Hello, my name is Genevieve Houston. I have over 20 years of teaching experience at primary level. I am committed to helping each and every child reach their full potential. I am constantly looking for opportunities to update and upgrade my own practise (see my page Training and Testimonials). Learning is my passion. It opens doors, expands choice and gives freedom. I have recently undertaken online courses in child protection and safeguarding.
Having taught throughout and after the COVID 19 pandemic, I am seeing first hand the ongoing effects and implications of this time on children's social, emotional and mental health.

My approach
My approach to tutoring is tailored to the needs of each individual child. I start by getting to know your child's strengths and areas of challenge, as well as their learning style and preferences. From there, I create a Personalised Progress Plan which is engaging, challenging and effective.

My sessions are designed to be fun and interactive with plenty of opportunities for your child to ask questions, practice skills and explore new concepts. I use a range of teaching techniques and resources to keep your child engaged and motivated, including games, puzzles, stories and interactive whiteboards.

Our First Meeting

Arrange a time and place for the first session.
